Nampula: Bridge Repair Works Over Natete River to Disrupt Traffic on N13

Nampula: Bridge Repair Works Over Natete River to Disrupt Traffic on N13
By Jackson Hélder 2 min

Road traffic along National Road Number 13 (N13), connecting the districts of Ribáuè and Malema in Nampula Province, will be temporarily suspended on 5 and 6 November, between 6:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., as part of rehabilitation works on the bridge over the Natete River.

The measure was announced by the National Roads Administration (ANE), which has scheduled maintenance works on the infrastructure from 3 to 7 November, during which vehicle movements will be subject to restrictions.

According to the institution, the intervention includes replacing damaged bridge components, such as panels and deck sections, as well as installing new safety features aimed at improving road conditions and ensuring safer travel along the route.

During the two days of complete traffic suspension, motorists are advised to use the alternative route designated by ANE, starting at the Namigonha junction, passing through Iapala, and reconnecting with the N13 near the bridge over the Thi Thi River.

The authority responsible for the national road network has urged motorists and transport operators to strictly comply with temporary road signs, established load limits, and instructions issued by traffic management teams deployed to the affected area.

The closure is expected to affect passenger and freight transport between Ribáuè and Malema, given the strategic importance of the N13 for mobility, trade, and economic activities in this part of Nampula Province.

ANE has therefore recommended that transport operators and other road users plan their journeys in advance to minimise disruptions resulting from the rehabilitation works.
