Cristiano Ronaldo is part of a consortium of investors preparing a bid to acquire Al-Nassr, the Saudi club he has played for since 2023.
The group plans to negotiate with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), which owns a 75% stake in the club. No final agreement on a sale has been reached so far.
Alongside Ronaldo, the consortium reportedly includes Gerry Cardinale, founder and CEO of RedBird Capital Partners, the group that owns AC Milan, as well as businessmen Ibrahim Al-Muhaidib, Mohammed Al-Khuraiji and Sharaf Al-Hariri.
Available information indicates that each of the five investors could commit around $100 million to the operation, giving the group an initial financial capacity of approximately $500 million.
However, the amount does not necessarily represent the final purchase price of Al-Nassr, as no formal bid has yet been officially announced.
If the deal goes ahead, Cristiano Ronaldo could become a shareholder in the same club he currently represents as a player.
The Portuguese international joined Al-Nassr in early 2023 and has since become one of the leading figures in Saudi football’s international expansion.
The potential acquisition remains at the preparation stage and will depend on a formal offer and an agreement with Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund.
