By Hemerson Chiziane 1 min

The clubs set to compete in the qualification play-offs for the 2026 Moçambola have learned their opponents following the draw that determined the groups across Mozambique’s Southern, Central and Northern zones.

The competition is scheduled to begin on 3 October and will bring together teams battling for places in Moçambola, Mozambique’s top-flight football league.

In the Southern Zone, Group A features ESFA, Ferroviário de Gaza, Liga Desportiva de Maputo and Temusa.

Group B includes Incomati de Xinavane, Matchedje de Maputo and Barões de Massinga. The group has only three teams due to the absence of a second representative from Gaza Province.

In the Central Zone, Group A consists of Sena FC, Matchedje de Chimoio, Planície de Mpadue and a representative from Zambézia Province who is yet to be confirmed.

Group B includes Têxtil de Púngué, Trans SK Company, Associação Desportiva Chingale and a second representative from Zambézia Province.

In the Northern Zone, Group A brings together Águias Especiais de Lichinga, Sporting de Nampula and Clube Atlético de Montepuez.

Group B features Muchenga FC, Desportivo de Nacala and Ferroviário de Pemba.

The qualification play-offs will determine which teams secure promotion to the 2026 Moçambola, Mozambique’s premier national football competition.
