According to an NBC News investigation based on accounts from four men who were held at the same prison, Diddy allegedly has other inmates cooking for him, cleaning, doing his laundry, making his bed and even giving him massages.
Former inmates claim the artist spends thousands of dollars each month to pay for the different services. The money is reportedly transferred by people close to Diddy into the commissary accounts of inmates who carry out the tasks.
The services described include cleaning bathrooms and shower areas before the musician uses them, washing his clothes and preparing special meals. Some inmates allegedly cooked dishes such as chicken curry, pizza and pastries using improvised equipment inside the prison.
Reports also indicate that Diddy has access to Chinese-style massages and that other inmates help manage some of the fan mail he receives because of the large volume of correspondence sent to him.
In addition to the services allegedly provided by fellow inmates, sources interviewed by NBC News claim the musician had access to prohibited mobile phones, alcoholic beverages and a modified tablet that allowed him to watch films and television programmes and access social media.
Images and videos obtained by NBC News reportedly showed Diddy using a mobile phone inside the prison, where inmates are prohibited from possessing such devices.
Following the publication of the investigation, Sean Combs was reportedly removed from the general housing unit and transferred to a special housing unit, commonly associated with solitary confinement. The US Federal Bureau of Prisons has not publicly confirmed the details of the transfer, citing privacy and security reasons.
A representative for Diddy challenged the way the reports have been presented, arguing that there has been excessive scrutiny of the artist’s prison life and that some of the situations described are part of the ordinary reality of the prison system.
Sean Combs, 56, was sentenced in 2025 to 50 months in prison for offences related to transporting people across US state lines for prostitution. He was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering conspiracy.
Diddy is currently serving his sentence at Fort Dix, a low-security federal prison. Federal records indicate that his release is scheduled for 21 January 2028, while his legal team continues to pursue an appeal against his conviction.
