Cabo Delgado Steps Up Inspections at Fuel Stations

Cabo Delgado Steps Up Inspections at Fuel Stations
By Osvaldo 1 min

Authorities in Cabo Delgado are set to intensify inspections at fuel stations as supply constraints persist and complaints increase over alleged favouritism, illegal charges and other difficulties in accessing fuel.

The decision was announced by Cabo Delgado Governor Valige Tauabo during a meeting with the provincial Secretary of State and fuel station managers to assess the current supply and distribution situation.

During the meeting, Tauabo instructed operators to improve distribution mechanisms in order to ensure greater transparency and equal access to fuel.

The governor also called for tighter monitoring at fuel stations, stressing the need to prevent irregular practices, including alleged bribery, improper charges and preferential treatment of certain consumers.

Authorities expect the strengthened inspections to improve oversight of fuel distribution and ensure that available supplies reach consumers in a fair and transparent manner.

The measure comes amid continued fuel supply constraints in Cabo Delgado, which have affected motorists, transport operators and other consumers who depend on fuel.
