Nampula: Three Men Found Dead, One Decapitated
By Jackson Hélder 2 min

The Mozambique Republic Police (PRM) have yet to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths of three men whose bodies were discovered in early October in Nacavala administrative post, Meconta district, in the northern province of Nampula. One of the victims showed signs of decapitation.

According to Jornal Notícias, the bodies were found along National Road Number 12 (N12) and near the railway line running through the area.

Authorities also discovered a completely burnt-out vehicle at the scene, but have not yet established its ownership or where it had come from.

Police remain uncertain about the vehicle's intended destination and the number of occupants travelling in it. Investigators have also not established whether the burnt-out vehicle is connected to the three deaths.

Speaking to journalists on Thursday, 15 October, the PRM spokesperson in Nampula, Dércio Samuel, confirmed that investigations were ongoing, with no conclusive findings regarding the incident.

According to the spokesperson, a multidisciplinary team comprising officers from the PRM and the National Criminal Investigation Service (SERNIC) is working to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Authorities are expected to provide further information once the investigation progresses, including any findings regarding those potentially responsible and the circumstances in which the deaths occurred.

So far, no information has been released regarding the victims' identities, possible motives or the existence of any suspects.

The case remains under police investigation.
