President Daniel Chapo is paying an official visit to the Republic of the Congo from 6 to 7 October, with the aim of strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The visit follows an invitation from Congolese President Denis Sassou Nguesso and is expected to focus on deepening bilateral relations and identifying new areas of cooperation between Maputo and Brazzaville.
During his stay in the Republic of the Congo, Chapo is expected to hold high-level meetings with Congolese authorities, with particular emphasis on strengthening political dialogue and exploring areas of mutual interest.
The economic component is also expected to feature prominently on the agenda, with meetings planned with strategic economic institutions in the Republic of the Congo to promote new partnerships and cooperation opportunities between the two countries.
The visit will also cover social and cultural matters, as part of efforts to strengthen the historic ties between Mozambique and the Republic of the Congo.
The trip is also seen as an opportunity to deepen bilateral dialogue mechanisms and explore new avenues of cooperation in the political, economic, social and cultural fields.
President Chapo is being accompanied by First Lady Gueta Selemane Chapo, members of the Government, officials from the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and representatives of other State institutions.
