The agreement was signed during the Arabian Travel Market 2026 in Dubai and provides for the exploration of joint tourism promotion opportunities in markets considered a priority within Emirates’ global network.
The partnership aims to use Emirates’ international network and its connections across Africa to increase Mozambique’s visibility as a tourist destination and make it easier for foreign travellers to reach the country.
According to Adil Al Ghaith, Emirates Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for the Central Region, Mozambique has significant tourism potential and the partnership could help showcase the diversity of the country’s tourism offering.
“Mozambique is a destination with enormous tourism potential, and we are pleased to collaborate with Mozambique’s National Agency for Tourism Development and Investment to help introduce its diverse offering to a greater number of international travellers,” he said.
Under the agreement, Emirates and ANDITUR are expected to develop promotional campaigns, initiatives targeting tour operators and tourism professionals, as well as familiarisation trips aimed at increasing awareness of Mozambique as a destination.
ANDITUR chairman Hélder Jauana said the objective is to promote the country among tourists and investors, particularly in the United Arab Emirates and other Middle Eastern markets.
“There are many destinations in Africa, but there is only one unique African experience — Mozambique,” Jauana said.
The partnership is also expected to benefit from Emirates’ cooperation with Airlink, allowing international passengers to reach Mozambique through South African airports, including Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.
Through these connections, travellers can continue their journeys to Mozambican destinations such as Maputo and Pemba more easily.
The Government has identified tourism as one of the priority sectors for economic diversification, job creation and investment attraction.
With around 2,500 kilometres of coastline, beaches, conservation areas, cultural experiences, gastronomy and maritime activities, Mozambique is seeking to strengthen its presence in major international tourism markets.
