BTV Joins TVCABO and Opens a New Chapter of Expansion

With its entry onto the platform, BTV’s content will no longer be available only on digital platforms, but will also reach TVCABO subscribers on channel position 323.

Since April, BTV has maintained regular broadcasts on digital platforms, offering general programming that includes news, culture, entertainment and content focused on Mozambican life and society.

According to Salvador Maiaze, Chairman of BTV’s Board of Directors, joining TVCABO represents the fulfilment of an ambition that had been building for some time.

“It is a great sense of anticipation that has been growing in our hearts for some time, and finally families will be able to access our content through the TV Cabo platform,” he said.

Maiaze also thanked the operator and invited viewers to follow the channel’s new phase.

“From 1 October, we will make our content available through the TV Cabo platform. This means people will now be able to watch us at home,” he said.

According to the Chairman of BTV’s Board of Directors, entering subscription television represents an important step for a channel that had previously relied mainly on social media to reach its audience.

“For us, this is a very significant step. It is a dream come true and we are happy,” he added.

For his part, Humberto Barros, General Director of TVCABO Mozambique, said BTV’s inclusion in the lineup is aligned with the operator’s commitment to promoting national content and local productions.

“The channel’s entry into our programming lineup reinforces the path we have followed over the years, particularly in recent years, which is to create more space for national content and local production,” he said.

Barros added that TVCABO has continued to expand its network with the aim of bringing locally produced content to an increasing number of households.

“We are reaching more people and taking local content to audiences who, ultimately, want to see what is local and what is produced locally,” he said.

BTV’s entry into the TVCABO lineup expands the broadcaster’s distribution channels and strengthens the presence of Mozambican-produced content on subscription television.
